Preparations for Gay Games VIII Cologne 2010 are in full swing.

On May 31, 2010, is the last day to register as a participant in one of the 35 sports at the Gay Games VIII 2010 in Cologne. From traditional sports such as track and field, football (soccer) and swimming, to more exotic competitions such as Bodybuilding and figure skating, the Cologne Gay Games offers people the right sport for everyone at any skill level.

In the meantime over 300 volunteers are eagerly awaiting the week with mounting enthusiasm and commitment to the games. Some sports are beginning to reach maximum capacity, the databases for hosted housing and volunteer management are providing opportunities for those in Cologne and worldwide, and athletes around the world are linking together with their city teams. Last week the Rainbow Memorial Flag officially began the countdown to Gay Games VIII Cologne by starting on its journey to Cologne for the opening ceremony on 31/07/2010 in RheinEnergie Stadium.

With a total of 35 athletic disciplines, Gay Games VIII covers from 31 July till 7 August 2010 a wide-ranging program that is sure to include a sport for you. Whether it’s a team effort, such as Soccer or Volleyball, or an individual/pairs event, such as Bodybuilding or Figure Skating – from Inline Speed Skating to Golf and Chess, there’s something here for everyone.

Competitions are held in accordance with international standards and rules of the relevant association, and most will recognize any records set.
