The Castle has a limited amount of guests that can attend – so get your tickets now as word is rife that almost 70% of available tickets have been snapped up by locals, enthusiasts from other parts of the country, as well as international visitors who plan their South African trip specifically around MCQP.

Overtaking the Castle of Good Hope in its entirety, those who would still like to be part of the spectacle like no other, which will include dark forces, mystical creatures, characters from Game of Thrones and from the time of Merlin, need to secure their places amongst the gatherings of knights, kings and queens, royalty and warriors, bloodthirsty animals, monsters and other dark and demented creatures immediately before it’s too late. Tickets are available at www.quicket.co.za.

Some of the biggest local and international acts performing were also just announced, which further adds to the speculation that tickets to the big day are selling like hot cakes.

Returning to the Castle of Good Hope after seventeen years, which itself celebrates more than 350 years of existence this year, those attending can rest assured that a building which survived centuries will most certainly be able to withstand any weather conditions that the Mother City might plan for the evening. She will be unable to cause any unpleasantness even if she sends thunder and lightning together with howling winds to add her own special effects to the atmosphere of the theme.

Africa’s biggest and longest running costume party is presented for the 24th time this year.

Says Ian McMahon, Director of MCQP: “We’re going bigger, better and bolder than ever before. Understanding we had had 2 years of bad weather for MCQP – this year boasts 7 indoor dance areas and 1 outdoor – so no matter what the weather – we are ready for YOU! Hundreds of wannabe Jon Snows, Tyrion Lannisters, Daenerys Targarians, Khaleesi’s, the Amazon woman- Brienne of Tarth, Merlin or other creatures of the night will descent on ‘Cape Landing’ this summer night to follow the dark knights of doom at the event. It’s going to be a MCQP like never before. Who will you be or will you come and cast a spell on them all?”

Famed DJ and event organiser, Candice Heyns, joined the team of organisers this year after extensively touring Europe as both a DJ performer and assisting in arranging some of the biggest events in a variety of European countries, providing vast knowledge on the latest international trends. “We are bring the biggest stage set ever, with fire pyrotechnics, video walls and dazzling spectacles – don’t miss this one!” she says

Heyns, Project Manager of MCQP, adds: “We’ll conjure up the great songs of Fire and Ice and the best DJs from far beyond the western reaches of the great wall. Do your research on all things dark in order to decide on your outfit – of knights and warriors, of creatures of the dark ages or from spells out of Merlin’s own book.”
