All the Buzz on Cape Town Pride Festival 2019

Cape Town Pride has been working hard with gay venues and LGBT organisations to present a fabulous ten day, more than 20 event programme of art, culture, fun and parties to celebrate the theme I Am Me: No Excuses, No Regrets. The festival starts this Friday. The highlight as always is the Pride Parade and Pride Mardi Gras on Saturday 2nd March.

Friday 22nd February

Pride Pink Party

8.00pm.

Pride Fundraiser Opening Party held at the following gay bars: Crew Bar, The Prison (formally Beaulah), Zer021 Social Club, The Social Bar and Versatile Bar. R30 cover gets you at stamp at the door which gets you access to all the above bars (surcharge of R20 a Crew Bar).

Who will be carry off the title at one of the Mother City’s most prestigious pageants? Floats, Bands, Bears, Dykes on Bikes, Carnival Queens, Dancers, Leather Queens: All the colours of the Rainbow Nation in their full glory

12 noon.

Starts at Prestwich Street in De Waterkant, travels on Somerset Rd, Main Road and Helen Suzman Boulevard, ending at Reddam Field at the Green Point Urban Park.

Please note: the traditional moment of silence will NOT be happening at the start of the Parade, but at the Mardi Gras afterwards where more people can be part of this remembrance.
