Citroen C1

Citroen C1 Review

By Franky Johnson

Based on the same platform as the Toyota Aygo and Peugeot 108, the C1 brings a slice of quirky Citroen styling to the city hopper car class.

Available with the same 1.0-litre 3-cylinder engines as the Toyota and Peugeot, the C1 is most at home in the city - where this kind of car belongs. It's also available with PSA's 1.2-litre PureTech petrol engine which gives the C1 a bit more motorway cruising ability, but remaining efficient at the same time.

The ride can become unsettled at times, but around town the C1 is easy to drive and supple. The looks give the C1 a distinctive appearance, plus a peel-back fabric roof adds a touch of class and a real fun-factor compared with other competitors.

As is the case with other Citroen models, the C1 is well equipped, but it suffers the same fate as the Aygo and 108 in that interior quality can't match the class best, nor can the space in the boot and rear seats.
