AFP recently released a new map illustrating the legal status gay humans enjoy (and in large parts do not) on this corner of the galaxi we call home.
It is, in a sense, a map of homophobia today.
Based on statistics gathered from UNAIDS and ILGA the map reveals that in 2016 its still being illegal to be oneself in 75 countries around the world and in 7 countries you can even 'legally' get killed for it.
As indicated on the map, in particular, the continent of Africa seems to be the most dangerous place for Earth's gay citizens with religion controlled regions following a close second.
It must be noted that in 2016, the countries which punish homosexuality with the death penalty mostly do so on religious grounds.
