Pink Mynah festival Is A Go

15 October 2015

Over in South Africa's Kwazulu Natal the province's Gay and Lesbian Network will be hosting the annual Pink Mynah Festival from 3 to 5 December later this year.

This includes the Mr and Ms Pink Mynah pageant, which will be held on 4 December at the Imperial Protea Hotel. The pageant is unique and different as it is open all who identify as either Mr or Ms, regardless of gender or sexual orientation.

The pageant is open to everyone between the ages of 18 and 35, has a valid ID or passport and who lives in South Africa. There will be three categories for the judging - evening wear, swimwear and talent sections.

Entrance is R100 per contestant and there will be great prizes up for grabs.

We urge those interested to enter this pageant by either downloading the entry form from our website or also they can pick up an entry form from our office at 187 A Burger Street (opposite the Department of Transport).

Please note, entries close on 15 November. This is a great opportunity for all who dream of a life on the runway as this pageant is used as a stepping stone towards the Mr Gay South Africa pageant, as seen with previous year’s winners Andrew Venter and Pierre Buckley.

There will be an arts and film festival, the Pink Mynah Pageant as well as a parade which will fill with streets with rainbow pride. The event will be family friendly and packed with awesome entertainment, so be sure to attend.

The Pink Mynah Festival is endorsed by the Msunduzi Pietermaritzburg Tourism Association and the KZN Gay and Lesbian Tourism Association.
